Clinton Branch Library

Clinton, South Carolina

Studio 2LR collaborated with Studio Shea to design a new 10,800 SF branch library in Clinton, SC for Laurens County Library. The design team worked closely with the library steering committee to identify and develop a responsive design solution based on community needs for this branch location.

The design of the library is organized around a central circulation space highlighted by a large clerestory above that allows natural light to flow into the core of the building. Functional elements include a large meeting room, children’s room, teen lounge area, private study rooms, and a workshop. Outside features include a front porch with custom bench seating and a large reading garden in the back.
