Studio 2LR Earns Regional Design Award for Orangeburg County Library & Conference Center

ORANGEBURG, S.C.  (September 16, 2022) – Studio 2LR, Inc., an architecture and interior design firm creating impact through transformative design, recently earned a 2022 Aspire Design Merit Award for Orangeburg County Library & Conference Center. The Aspire Design Awards were held at the 2022 Aspire Conference in Asheville, NC. A total of 25 winners were selected from over 280 project submissions from South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Kentucky.

The Orangeburg County Library & Conference Center serves as a beacon for community engagement, business development, and lifelong learning in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The design for this 47,000 SF project includes adult, teen, and children’s collections, computer training, art space, gallery spaces, a bookstore, meeting rooms, a conference center, and campus-like outdoor spaces.

The Aspire States (AIA Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina) hold their annual Design Awards to recognize a wide range of architecture throughout the Southeast, which focuses on improving the quality of built environments in the communities they are of service to. The Aspire Design Awards highlight the various range of projects within the region. The AIA believes that awards programs should select and recognize honorees that have been elevated on the quality of their architectural practices, established standard of excellence that can be a measure of performance for all architects, and that communicates to the public how important design is.
