The new South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) headquarters is a three-story, 151,000 SF building designed to centralize multiple office locations and meet the evolving needs of the department. Located just outside of Columbia, SC, adjacent to Interstate 26, the facility features a range of flexible spaces, including meeting rooms, event spaces, work areas, offices, and support zones. The design emphasizes open circulation pathways and maximizes natural light, creating a welcoming and functional environment. Distinctive large composite metal canopies offer sun shading while incorporating bold “school bus yellow” accents to draw attention to the primary building entrances.
