SCNG Field Maintenance Shop

Florence, South Carolina

This project for the South Carolina National Guard features a new 13,000 SF field maintenance shop facility. The overall site includes military vehicle parking for Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT), High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV or Humvee), and multiple heavy wheeled and track vehicles excluding tanks. Other program elements include: privately owned vehicle parking, a field maintenance shop (FMS) building, wash building, loading dock, and diesel fueling station. The maintenance building and military parking are designed to accommodate the anticipated growth over the next 20 years. Key sustainable items include a geothermal heat pump system, use of high recycled content materials throughout, daylight in all occupied spaces including the large work bays, and on-site storm water detention.
